Aspen Institute Romania is a key institutional partner for the international event “Emerging Europe and The United States: Towards 2030” – a truly European project organized by the London-headquartered online publication Emerging Europe. Focusing on the future political and economic relationship between the emerging Europe region and the United States, the event will discuss security, energy and climate, health, infrastructure, innovation and digital transformation. The current edition consists in three elements, a grounding online survey, the event sessions and the report presenting the results of the survey and the discussions.

The online debate is a series of keynote speeches and panel discussions followed by virtual networking opportunities and sector-focused chats, starting at 14:00 CEST | 08:00 EST on August 27, 2020.

SURVEY

Emerging Europe will carry out a survey in the diplomatic community, key emerging Europe think tanks, as well as American Chambers of Commerce.

The survey is open to entrepreneurs and business representatives who want to share their views on opportunities, challenges and threats impacting the future political and economic relations between the region and the US.

The survey will run from June 15 till August 5, 2020.

ONLINE DEBATE

Emerging Europe is organising an invitation-only online debate with political and business leaders as well as media representatives.

The discussion will be centred around the region’s collaboration with the United States in four areas: infrastructure, energy, digital transformation and health. Individuals interested in joining the online event are invited to submit a request to join.

The online debate will take place on August 27, 2020.

REPORT

Emerging Europe will produce a report including survey findings as well as executive summaries of all the discussions carried out online.

A complimentary copy of the report will be distributed to decision-makers in the emerging Europe countries (governments, business associations and leaders, media), the US administration, American business organisations, and will be available upon request.

We aim to publish the full conference report by September 30, 2020.
