Bogdan Ion is the Country Managing Partner for Ernst & Young in Romania & Moldova.
He has a degree in Cybernetics and Economic Forecast from the University of Economic Studies in Bucharest and a Master in applied Microeconomics from the University of Orleans, France.
Bogdan is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), member of the Romanian Chamber of Financial Auditors (CAFR) and also a member of the Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania (CECCAR).
He was member of the Board of Directors of AmCham in Romania for the 3 years period 2012 – 2015, leading the Infrastructure and PPP committee. During 2014 he was elected as the AmCham Vicepresident. In 2016, he was re-elected member of the Board of Directors of AmCham in Romania.
Bogdan represents Romania in The European Forum for Audit Quality.
Bogdan is also member of Romania’s board of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest Corporate Citizenship initiative.
Auditing international clients applying IFRS, Austrian and German GAAP, audit of public interest entities.
Advisor to Board of Directors of various large international and domestic companies undergoing transformation.
Bogdan is an active contributor to various forums, focusing on governance and entrepreneurship.
Bogdan has been part of various EY and external training programs such as: Kellog, Harvard, London Business School.
Bogdan has over 18 years of professional experience in audit, transaction services and consulting services.
Broad, comprehensive experience in audits of a wide range of international clients in diverse industry sectors (e.g. oil and gas, manufacturing, retail) for some of the largest public interest entities and private companies in South East Europe.
Bogdan’s assurance experience in EY includes the coordination as lead audit partner of large audit engagements such as OMV Petrom Group, Lafarge / CRH Group, Lidl Group, CEZ Group, Vimetco etc.
