Cezar is currently leading the Rating model and Risk Parameters Team in Banca Comercială Română (BCR), where he strive for excellence in his role to safeguard the banking business in an environment very exposed to credit risk. Before joining BCR he graduated from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management with a PhD in Quantitative Finance. His research was focused on the applications of mathematics in finance, primarily in the field of interest rate modelling. Cezar considers Romania to be the best place for developing his managerial and leadership skills. During the PhD program he had two internships at Deutsche Bank. As such, he actively promotes in Romania the same excellence standards that inspired him in Germany. Cezar has also started the Credit Risk Workshop in BCR, where he teaches a group of promising graduates how to apply the latest mathematical models in practice. He hopes that in this way the Romanian financial industry will benefit from a motivated generation of young professionals, willing to implement high standards at their workplace.
