Diana Rusu is the Secretary General of ARCADIA-the Romanian Association for International Cooperation and Development, a professional association reuniting Romanian experts working in the field of international development all over the world. She is responsible for organizational development aiming to extend the traditional reach of this domain toward new professions and bridging apparently divergent fields of work. Passionate about sustainable development, Diana joined the UNDP team in Romania initially as an intern and then as a project assistant and consultant working on projects touching upon anti-corruption policies, women empowerment measures, multiculturalism, CSR strategies and sustainable business. Due to her research interests in the topic of ‘brain circulation’ and its influence on development she was granted a scholarship for the 2011 summer school on Sustainable Human Development conducted jointly by CEU and UNDP Regional Office. Diana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Babes-Bolyai University and a MA in International Relations and European Studies from the Central European University of Budapest. Her areas of interest are the role of private sector in development, innovation and sustainable development. Apart from ARCADIA, Diana is currently supporting the development of new initiatives such as educational programs in IC&T and the launching of the ASAP (Academics Stand Against Poverty) chapter in Romania.
