Madalina Mocan is executive director of Ratiu Foundation for Democracy, based in Transylvania, Romania, coordinating a series of projects and programs on democratization, human rights and active citizenship. Madalina is a graduate of Babes Bolyai University at Cluj Napoca, Faculty of Political Sciences where she has also obtained an MA degree in “Management of Political Organisations”. Madalina maintains an academic, research -based interest in human rights theories, multicultural policies, and the role of civil society. Her latest work includes the introducing of a new governance model in the organisation in order to strengthen its capacities and generate more resources for on-going projects and initiatives. She is also part of national and international initiatives in the fields of democratization, public participation, and human rights, in which quality she cooperates with various stakeholders and beneficiaries from Romania, MENA, USA, the Balkans, and the former Soviet republics. She is passionate about Balkan history, literature, and horseback riding.
