Traian has worked on reforming higher education in Romania for the past 10 years. He began by founding a student NGO, led the educational department of National Alliance of Student NGOs in Romania and was a member of the Board of Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. In 2007 he created CROS aiming to develop an alternative model of higher education based on self-directed learning, collaboration in communities of practice and real life projects. CROS engaged more than 300 students in it’s long term programs, created a network of more than 150 professionals, and attracted more than 500.000 euro worth of educational services and financial support. In the fall of 2013 his team will launch Romania’s first Alternative University. When not working on this project you can find Traian rollerblading in the skate park, snowboarding, playing volleyball, chess or some other strategy board game or reading science fiction.
