State Counsellor on Economic Affairs to Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș since December 2015, Dragos Pislaru is an economic analyst with solid expertise in structural reforms, local development and competitiveness. Before his nomination in the Government, he was a managing partner of the consultancy company GEA Strategy&Consulting for nine years. Dragos also worked as a national expert for the European Commission, OECD and The World Bank.

Gratuate of a masters’ degree in international relations from London School of Economics and Political Science (UK), he earned a PhD in economic sciences from the National Institute for Economic Research of the Romanian Academy, with a research on industrial cluster development.

Until 2007, he taught economics at the Bucharest Academy for Economic Sciences, Faculty of International Relations, for eight years.
