In the French Air Force from 1985 to 2021
– As a fighter pilot, over 3,000 flight hours, including more than 50 combat missions in the former Yugoslavia and Iraq, leading key military operations, including in Afghanistan as the last French forces commander and the Director of the Kabul international airport.
– In strategic HQs: Expertise in defense policy, space and European security cooperation, operational strategy and military technology innovation.
– Finally, from 2018 to 2021, served as Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force, overseeing strategic operations, modernization efforts, and international defense cooperation.

Most recently, from 2021 to 2024, posted as NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander in charge of the Transformation of NATO.
– Responsible for Anticipation with strategic foresight analysis, for operational Strategy to capability development through Transformation including innovation, and for Talents challenges, across the Alliance.
– Main achievements = NATO Digital transformation, Alliance (32 Nations) Capability targets to collectively keep the edge, Space operationalization, Innovation and experimentation continuum, NATO – Ukraine Lessons learned center.

– Strategic advisor for 4 French starts up (Counter-UAS, Radar detection, engine hybridization, robotics orchestration) and a Czech startup & and for 2 European Investment Funds (VC) for seeds and series A
– Member of the Defense advisory Board of ALVEST Group.
– Independent Member in the advisory board of Amazon Web Services European Sovereign Cloud.
– Distinguished Fellow in 2 Think Tanks (Globsec and Center for European Analysis)
