Mirela Gligore is currently the Head of Communication, Foreign Affairs and Marketing for the Municipality of Sibiu, handling communication with mass media and citizens, the city’s relationship with national and foreign partners and the overall image of the institution. She has been occupying this position for 14 years. 

Aside from the everyday activity, Mirela was involved in the City Hall teams that handled major projects such as: the European Capital of Culture Program in 2007, the European Summit in 2019, Sibiu European Region of Gastronomy Program in 2019, the Sustainable Urban Mobility Program in 2017, the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of the City and is part of the implementation teams of several projects with non-refundable European funds. 

Born and raised in Sibiu, Mirela graduated Octavian Goga High School, majoring in English in French and got her degree from the Babes – Bolyai University in Cluj, for English and French. Part of her professional activity, Mirela is also a certified translator for English.

Mirela Gligore is a fellow of the third edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, Spring Cohort 2021.
