Aspen City Innovation Initiative: Smart and Sustainable Urban Development
As Romanian cities face growing pressure to adapt to rapid urban transformation, the Aspen Institute Romania, in partnership with the Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, will convene a high-level roundtable under the auspices of the new strategic Aspen City Innovation Initiative.
The event will bring together local public decision-makers, business leaders, urban policy experts, academics, and civil society representatives for a structured dialogue on the future of urban development in Romania. Key themes will include innovative solutions to major urban challenges, sustainable mobility and infrastructure, contemporary real estate models for smart cities, green space management, digital integration of urban systems, and strategies for fostering tech clusters and data-driven governance.
Discussions will aim to generate concrete policy proposals and strategic directions for building smarter, more resilient, and inclusive cities. The roundtable will be held in Romanian, under Chatham House Rule, with participation by invitation only.
