The Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni (ASFA) is Aspen Institute Romania’s (AIR) latest initiative to provide an updated platform for meaningful dialogue, networking, and reconnection for the graduates of all the AIR Leadership Programs (Aspen Fellows & Alumni). ASFA’s mission is to bring together passionate Fellows and Alumni who want to actively engage in the life of the Aspen Community and to tap into the opportunities offered by AIR and the international network of all the Aspen Institutes around the globe.

In order to cultivate an interconnected community of Aspen-driven leaders, committed to creating an enduring positive impact on society, the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni introduces new synergies between its members and the wide range of Aspen Institute Romania Programs (Public Events, Public Policy Programs and Leadership Programs) facilitating improved connection opportunities among its members.

Membership to the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni is based on the Annual ASFA Contribution of €150 and is dedicated exclusively to graduates of all AIR’s Leadership Programs* (Fellows and Alumni) aged 19 or above.

The members of the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni enjoy the following benefits:

  • Access to the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni’s exclusive and dedicated networking events, such as:
    • Short Leadership Seminars: 2-day Aspen Seminar for members of the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni, organized by AIR and moderated by Aspen-trained moderators.
    • Other event formats: Informal talk with…; Aspen Socratic Evening; etc.
    • Meeting the participants of different fellowship-based Leadership Programs during specific moments of the ongoing editions; right to vote the winner of the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni Grant;
  • Opportunity to participate and engage in debates organized within the various AIR Public Policy Programs (suggesting topics for debates and enjoying priority access)
  • Opportunity to initiate or co-create a project or an event engaging the Community, under the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni and AIR framework;
  • Priority access to the annual Leadership Awards & Gala Dinner on special terms (20% exclusive discount);
  • Opportunity to be selected as members of the evaluation committees for the Aspen Young Leaders Program (AYLP) and the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program (APSLP), advising the Institute in the selection processes of the next cohorts; 
  • Priority access at the AIR main Public Events (Bucharest Forum, Energy Summit, Healthcare Summit) on special terms (priority in notification & registration of attendance);
  • Priority information to the opportunities offered by the Aspen International Network and opportunity to be nominated by AIR to attend international programs, events, etc.
  • Opportunity to disseminate information and promote projects that would benefit the Aspen Society of Fellows & Alumni or would need assistance from members of the ASFA.
