Allen Coliban is currently serving his first term as the Mayor of Brasov, being elected on 28th of September 2020. Vice-President of USR, Allen Coliban stepped into politics in 2016, as a founding member of USR Brasov. His political career includes managing the campaigns in Brașov for the 2016 Parliamentary and the 2019 Euro-Parliamentary elections and serving for 4 years in the Romanian Parliament as Senator of Brașov. In the Romanian Senate he has chaired the Environmental Protection Committee, conducting investigations on waste management and landfill issues and initiating laws for protecting the Environment – most  notably, “The Law of Odors” and “The National Anticorruption Directorate for Forests”  (“DNA-ul Pădurilor”).  

A Brasov native, father of Runa (8) and Petra (3), Allen has studied Computer Science at the Politehnica University of Bucharest (non-graduate) and has a bachelor’s degree in  Management at the Transylvania University of Brașov. His background includes 10 years in IT, 8 years in consultancy (on Management and EU funding) and 5 years in sport  development (as Competitions and Development Officer for the World Curling Federation).

Allen is a fellow of the third edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, Spring Cohort 2021.
