Claudiu Butacu is a dedicated engineer and passionate NGO advocate, committed to sustainability and the accessibility of renewable energy and sustainable housing. He strongly believes that education is the primary driver of change. By founding and managing EFdeN, Romania’s largest NGO focused on training young professionals in sustainable community building, he has turned his vision into reality.

In collaboration with the private and public sectors, Claudiu has piloted renewable energy strategies and smart green city solutions, addressing global environmental challenges. EFdeN is a world champion in sustainable housing, has influenced legislation for prosumers, and has trained over 1000 young professionals. Claudiu is convinced that sustainable and systemic change can only be achieved by uniting the efforts of the private, public, and NGO sectors to reach a common goal.
