Ioana has been a member of the Romanian Association for Debate, Oratory and Rhetoric for the past 10 years. During this time she has coordinated several projects that promote human rights through dialogue such as a multi-ethnic debate club tackling xenophobia and Debating Threats to Democracy, an International Debate Education Association project helping young people use critical thinking to advance democratic values.

She is currently a coach for the Romanian National High School Debate Team. She was a Romanian Youth Delegate to the United Nations in 2017-2018, and has represented Romania in the 72nd General Assembly and the 56th Commission for Social Development at ECOSOC.

She holds a Master’s degree in Culture and Politics in a European and International Context from the University of Bucharest. Her main areas of focus are promoting education and reducing discrimination and inequalities in society.
