Gemma Webb is a visionary business leader with a distinguished career spanning over three decades in various industries, currently serving as the CEO and President of RetuRO SGR since November 2022. With a profound commitment to sustainable development and circular economy practices, she has been instrumental in steering RetuRO towards becoming one of Europe’s largest circular economy companies.
She serves as the President of the Romanian Irish Business Association since October 2020, where she plays an important role in strengthening economic ties between Romania and Ireland. In the same vein, since September 2020, she has been the President of the FMCG Association Romania, advocating for a favorable business environment in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
Gemma’s leadership prowess was further demonstrated during her tenure as the CEO & Managing Director of AGW.International from April 2020 to October 2022. Her strategies focused on business improvement, waste management services, and energizing employee engagement, among others. Her journey in the tobacco industry is notable, having spent over 18 years with British American Tobacco, where she held several key positions including the West Europe Area Head of Next Generation Products & Managing Director BAT UK & Ireland, and CEO & Managing Director British American Tobacco Romania.
Academically, Gemma Webb holds an MBA from the University of Warwick – Warwick Business School, a BA in Math’s and Economics from University College Cork, and a Diploma in Management Studies from Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University. She also has a Chartered Director certificate from the Institute of Directors (IoD).
