Irina Zidaru is a career diplomat with expertise in regional affairs and the European perspective of Romania’s non-EU neighbors, the relationship of regional organizations with the EU, frozen conflicts and regional security.

She participated in negotiations for many bilateral political and technical agreements with Romania’s non-EU neighbors.

On the academic dimension, she has a general interest in the theory of the international relations, the concept of de facto states, multilateral negotiations and the evolution of soft power in modern and contemporary history.
