Former Seine-et-Marne’s MP, Jean-François Copé was also a member of government under President Chirac from 2002 to 2007, notably the Spokesperson of the Government, the delegate Minister of the Interior and the Minister of the Budget. He became the Head of the Parliamentary majority in 2007 and then the President of the UMP’s party, main French conservative party (2012-2014). He graduated from Sciences Po and ENA. Currently, he is the Mayor of Meaux and a lawyer at Stehlin office.
