With over 20 years of professional experience in audit, transaction services and financial consulting, Bogdan Ion leads the fast growing local practices of EY in Romania and Moldova – as Country Managing Partner. Starting July 2018 he was also appointed Chief Operating Officer for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe & Central Asia.

He is an advisor for the boards of directors of many international and domestic companies undergoing transformation. Bogdan’s business acumen is rooted in prestigious international education institutions and professional bodies, such as The University of Orleans and the Kellogg School of Management. He is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK, a member of the Romanian Chamber of Auditors and the Body of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Bogdan is an active contributor in various forums, focusing on governance, entrepreneurship and innovation. He strongly advocates for entrepreneurship support in Romania by getting involved in professional projects and think-tanks, which facilitate strategic assistance to entrepreneurs across the country. He is also a member of Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO), an international organization focusing on the continuing education of entrepreneurs and CEOs and a member of the board of Junior Achievement Romania, a global leader in developing the young’s entrepreneurial skills.
