Oana Maria Matei is a medical doctor by background and holds an Executive MBA diploma in Business Administration and General Management from Tiffin University (2019).

Oana has more than 15 year of clinical and pharmaceutical industry experience, across various therapeutic areas. For the past 11 years Oana has been working for the Romanian affiliate of Roche Group. Since 2022 she serves as Country Medical Director while previously she held various management roles in medical affairs, personalized healthcare and commercial in both the local affiliate but also in cross-countries initiatives, leading multiple workstreams and complex projects across Roche Group.

In her position as Medical and License to Operate lead, Oana is responsible for coordinating the medical education, patient support and clinical trials programs across the therapeutic areas Roche is active, by supporting the enhancement of scientific knowledge of the medical community and by enabling innovation in the clinical field through clinical trials and different access programs. Also, Oana is coordinating the License to Operate activities in Romania, through pharmacovigilence, regulatory, quality and medical compliance, in the GCP/GVP and GMP/ GDP areas, where she closely collaborates with all relevant authorities and institutions.

Prior to her roles at Roche, she worked as a medical doctor at the Emergency University Hospital Bucharest and was a freelance translator for medical journals and therapeutic protocols.
