Iosif has been working with the Romanian telecoms’ regulator (ANCOM) since its inception, where he gradually evolved and was given challenging tasks and several large scale projects in economic regulation, costing & pricing of various regulated telecommunication services, spectrum beauty contests and auctions. As an advisor to ANCOM’s president for regulatory issues (2011 – 2017), he put more weight on the international issues at a time when the changing telecom’ landscape recommended that new rules of the game be drawn up. Thus, Iosif got involved into the workings of several European and international bodies such as IRG (Independent Regulators Group), BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications), and ITU (International Telecommunications Union). Having some knowledge of French, Iosif has also actively contributed to the agenda of FRATEL (Réseau francophone de la régulation des télécommunications).

Since 2017, Iosif has been the head of strategy & statistics with ANCOM. Currently, he leads the inter-institutional group responsible for the delivery of the 5G Strategy for Romania.

Iosif doesn’t practise too many sports lately, but he loves to ski. He likes classical music, old movies and to travel off the beaten path. Iosif is also fond of tribal African art.

Iosif is a fellow of the first edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, organized between 2018 and 2019.
