An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Matthias Daub is the founder of societec – serving society through technology. Societec builds digital platforms that connect citizens, companies and the public administration to bring positive impact to society. His mission is to support societies make better use of technology to create more opportunities and greater access to healthcare, safety and education for citizens around the world. 

Dr. Daub has successfully supported governments and large corporations in their most challenging transformations. He designed new delivery models that combine digital services and people centricity and helped countries innovate their defense systems. He is also dedicating significant effort to philanthropic causes, supporting children in need and facilitating their growth and re-integration into society.

In 2022, he founded societec (www.societec.net) bringing together top consulting and engineering professionals with offices in Germany – Berlin, Munich and in Romania – Bucharest and Iasi.

Between 2002 and 2021, he was a consultant with McKinsey&Co. (most recently as Senior Partner) acting as global leader for Digital Public Sector and Service Operations working with governments and corporations in Europe, Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

Since 1996, he created and scaled organizations to support disadvantaged children around the world and is currently acting as founder and manager of Courage foundation, Berlin – investing in education for children in Moldova, Romania, and Cambodia (www.societec.net/courage). 

Dr. Daub holds an MBA from European Business School and a PhD from ESCP Europe, Berlin, on multinational coordination of technology programs.
