Katja Christina Plate studied at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the
Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, at the Institut d’Etudes Politique in
Strasbourg/France and at the Faculty of Islam in Sarajevo. She has been working for the
Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) since 2005 in various positions in Berlin, Bucharest,
Chisinau, Rome and Tbilisi. Regionally Katja Christina Plate is specialized on
Southeastern and Eastern Europe as well as the Black Sea Region. European Security
Politics and Hybrid Warfare are focus points of her political analysis and political
consulting work. Currently Katja Christina Plate is the director of KAS’s office in Romania.
