Cătălina is a strategy and corporate development expert at OMV Petrom, with a diverse professional and academic background. 

Having trained as a linguist with a BA in Arabic and Portuguese Philology and an MA in Islamic Culture at the University of Bucharest, she started her career in consulting companies such as Accenture (Bucharest) and Mannaz (London), whilst continuing her studies in conference interpreting with an MA at the London Metropolitan University.

She then worked as Advisor to the Secretary of State for Trade & Investment within the Ministry of Economy (InvestRomania), targeting foreign direct investment growth and increasing the number of new jobs created. After this, she followed her manager, who had become MP and Chair of the Gender Equality Committee, as Chief of Staff within the Parliament of Romania, dealing with gender equality and economic policy issues. 

This focus was taken further to the European level, where she undertook a Blue Book Traineeship in the Gender Equality Unit within DG Justice, working on advancing vital topics such as ending gender-based violence, closing gender gaps and achieving equal participation in the labour market.

At OMV Petrom, she has worked on the strategy to lead the company on the transition to cleaner energy and a lower carbon future, as well as on significant organisational development projects. 

Cătălina is passionate about sustainability, gender equality, and foreign languages and cultures. 

She has two beautiful children whom she raises in her native Aromanian language.
