
Dragoș Vulvară

Dragos Vulvară began serving as a strategic communication expert and advisor to the State Secretary for Defense Policy, Planning, and International Relations at the Romanian Ministry of National Defense in February 2021. Prior to this, he worked for the Strategic Communication Bureau of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2019, during Romania’s first presidency of the EU Council, he advised the Minister for European Affairs on press and media matters. He later served, on a temporary assignment, as a political officer and press attaché at the Romanian Embassy in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye, from September 2019 to October 2020.
Before entering the public sector, Dragos was a journalist for 11 years, specializing in conflict zones, military affairs, international relations, organized crime, and counterterrorism. He reported from locations such as Syria, Ukraine in 2014, and Afghanistan, where he was embedded with Romanian troops in regions like Zabul, Kandahar, Kabul, and Logar. He also covered multiple NATO exercises, Defence Ministerial Meetings, NATO Summits, and the 2015 European refugee crisis.
Dragos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Journalism and has completed a Master’s in Security and Diplomacy.
