Emilia Malairău has served as the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham Moldova) since 2008.

Under her leadership, AmCham Moldova has grown into one of the country’s leading business associations, now representing over 180 member companies. The AmCham community plays a crucial role in advocating for regulatory reforms and contributing to a better business environment, by fostering public-private dialogue and addressing issues across various industries.

Mila is an active participant in multiple councils and working groups that connect the business sector with government authorities. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, where she chairs the working group focused on eliminating constraints in entrepreneurial activity.

In 2023, she was elected to the Executive Committee of AmChams in Europe (ACE), a network representing 50 American Chambers of Commerce across 48 countries in Europe and Eurasia.

With extensive expertise in policy research, regulatory improvement, and institutional development, Mila has a strong foundation in fostering a favorable investment climate. She holds a degree in Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and a Master’s in Law from the State University of Moldova.
