Volunteering Opportunity at Bucharest Forum 2019
We are currently looking for highly motivated students/young professionals to be an integral part of the success of Bucharest Forum 2019 (16-18 October) and get first-hand experience in high-level international event organization at an operational level.
This is the 8th edition of Bucharest Forum, organized by the Aspen Institute Romania and the German Marshall Fund of the United States, with the key support of the Romanian Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
Bucharest Forum is one of the largest public strategic debates in the region, bringing on the same stage a significant number of high level politicians, business people, journalists and academics from all over the world.
Volunteers will work closely with AIR and the GMF staff in the run-up to the event and assist in a wide array of logistical and administrative tasks during the days of the conference. Activities during the volunteering program can involve welcoming guests, assisting with organizing materials for the event, registration of onsite attendees, providing useful information to guests, tracking session participation, logistical support.
Attendance at orientation and team meetings throughout the week of the event is mandatory. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in sessions of the official program. Please be advised that, if selected, you will also need to attend short informative sessions and provide support with logistics also on the days prior to the event, so you must be available from mid September until the end of the conference.
Requirements:
– fluency in English and excellent communication skills;
– the ability to perform well in a multicultural environment;
– excellent time management skills;
– experience in event management is desirable but not essential;
– motivation to work flexible hours and handle logistical and administrative work.
Volunteers are expected to be punctual, reliable, and behave in a professional manner throughout the duration of the conference and preparations.

Please note that this is a non-paid volunteer position. All those selected will receive a participation certificate and the opportunity to join the paid internships provided by AIR and/or GMF. The organizers will provide all meals, and local transportation during the days of the forum.
