As Europe navigates an increasingly complex geopolitical and economic landscape, building resilience and strategic autonomy has never been more critical. In this context, the Aspen Institute Romania hosted a high-level Aspen Dialogue on European Economic Security and Resilience in Brussels, bringing together public and private sector leaders, experts, and stakeholders for a timely and forward-looking conversation.

This Aspen Dialogue examined how Europe can strengthen its economic resilience by safeguarding supply chains, investing in innovation, and preparing for future disruptions. A key focus was the EU Preparedness Strategy and how its core pillars – early warning systems, strategic stockpiling, diversified supply chains, and cross-border coordination – can be implemented effectively. Participants engaged in moderated discussions to generate concrete insights on how to reinforce the continent’s economic resilience and strengthen collaborative approaches across sectors.

The event also marked the official launch of the Aspen Institute Romania Brussels Office & European Hub, a strategic step forward in the Institute’s commitment to fostering values-based leadership and advancing non-partisan dialogue at the heart of European policymaking. Building on the success of the Chisinau office launched in 2023, the Brussels hub will serve as a bridge between decision-makers, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector, supporting cooperation on Europe’s most pressing challenges.
