This module will engage the participants in various activities aimed at offering them a broader understanding of their role as leaders in society and a higher awareness of societal problems, providing analytical and practical tools for leading change and enhancing their leadership skills and community involvement.

Throughout the week, the participants will partake in a 2-day hands-on community engagement exercise, designed and delivered in partnership with PACT Foundation, a Romanian organization which supports sustainable community development. The exercise is meant to help the participants to further understand the needs and the prerequisites of social change, through the practical experience of engaging with a rural community in Giurgiu County.
While having in mind the learnings from the community exercise, the participants will afterwards attend sessions designed to help them define their community service project ideas and bring them closer to the implementation stage.

Additionally, the module will include text-based Socratic sessions on specific topics, moderated by members of the group, fostering an environment of critical thinking and dynamic discussion.

Key contributors to the success of this module include Mădălina Mocan, Aspen Fellow and Affiliate expert; Mădălina Ene, Executive Director of the PACT Foundation, who will facilitate the community engagement exercise; and Mădălina Neagu, Aspen Fellow, who will guide the community service projects sessions.

The final step for the current participants before their graduation is the presentation of their community service project ideas, scheduled for December 2024.
