The event, organized by AmCham Romania and the Aspen Institute Romania, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense of Romania, will serve as a high-level platform for dialogue between international industry leaders attending NIF and Romanian defense and technology stakeholders, with the participation of senior Romanian and NATO officials.

In the current European security context, the roundtable will convene representatives from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society for a focused two-hour discussion on investment opportunities and industrial and technological cooperation. The objective is to strengthen Romania’s role within the European and transatlantic defense industrial base and innovation ecosystem, with particular attention to cybersecurity and dual-use technology development.

The roundtable will:

  • identify opportunities for public-private collaboration in developing dual-use technologies and integrating local production capabilities into regional, European, and global supply chains;

  • provide a platform for dialogue on cyber threats, resilience, regulation, and innovation in the field of dual-use technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and drones;

  • discuss key regulatory and policy issues relevant to cybersecurity and dual-use technology sectors.

The meeting will take place in a closed-door format, not open to the press. Key takeaways and recommendations will be published by AmCham Romania and further explored within the Aspen Institute Romania’s security-related policy programs, public events, and publications.
