Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, Module I, June 4 – 7, 2025
We are pleased to announce that between June 4–7, 2025, in Brașov County, we hosted Module I of the 6th edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, dedicated to representatives of the central public administration. This new cohort marked the beginning of a journey that blended deep reflection, open dialogue, and a shared commitment to public service.
The opening module, The Aspen Seminar, formed the foundation of the program. Built around a curated selection of classical and contemporary texts, the seminar used a Socratic method of discussion to encourage thoughtful debate on fundamental topics such as liberty, equality, ethics, and responsibility. This process offered participants a neutral, reflective space to explore their own beliefs and the values that guided both personal and institutional leadership.
Although the overall program included English-language components, Module I was conducted in Romanian, ensuring accessibility and depth of engagement. The seminar was moderated by Mădălina Mocan and Florin Ilie, who guided the conversations and supported participants in reflecting on the ideas presented.
Now in its 6th edition, the program brought together 23 participants, selected through a rigorous nomination-based process. Participants reflected a diversity of gender, political affiliation, and professional experience, and demonstrated a strong commitment to public service.
The second module of the program is scheduled to take place in the autumn of 2025.
Following the successful launch of this new edition with a stimulating first seminar, we are now looking ahead to welcoming our second cohort.
