Alexandra Popa
Fellow 2019
Alexandra Popa is a Law and Political Science graduate who works at the Ministry of Environment. Her choice of working in the public sector was driven by her strong belief that when public service is done right, with professionalism and commitment, it ultimately makes a difference by impacting people’s lives. Her main activities include taking part in the recruiting process, in conducting interviews, especially in English, handling employee relations and documenting terminations and transfers. She is also involved in organizing the Ministry’s events for 2019, once Romania takes over the presidency of the EU Council.
Alexandra values kindness, fairness, creativity, persistence, and she believes these are essential in everything she does: in how she lives out her personal life, in her relationship with her family and friends, and in the way in which she carries out her professional responsibilities.
Her main interests are reading and learning foreign languages. She is currently taking French classes at the French Institute in Bucharest to advance her language skills. In her free time, she enjoys going to the theatre and writing stories.
Alexandra is a fellow of the first edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, organized between 2018 and 2019.
