Dr. Alexandra Sîrmon is an epidemiologist and assistant lecturer at the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara, where she teaches epidemiology to sixth-year medical students using a modern, interactive approach focused on dialogue and practical relevance.
A graduate of both Medicine and Journalism, Political and Communication Sciences, Alexandra brings a rare interdisciplinary perspective to medical education and public health, combining scientific expertise with advanced communication skills.
She is currently pursuing a PhD through a collaborative doctoral program between the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara (Department of Microbiology) and the Politehnica University of Timișoara (Department of Mechatronics), focusing her research on the use of artificial intelligence to improve antimicrobial resistance surveillance in hospitals.
As a member of the MULTIREZ research center, she is deeply committed to medical research and actively contributes to shaping a new generation of empathetic, innovative, and engaged healthcare professionals.
She believes in leading by example and in building authentic connections with those she teaches. Her methods are rooted in respect, empathy, and enthusiasm, using modern and practical tools that bring theory closer to real-world practice. The excellent feedback she receives reflects a simple truth: authentic leadership inspires—it doesn’t impose, but is earned through presence, passion, and vision.
