Ana Gurduza
AYLP Fellow 2025
Ana Gurduza is a creator of images and stories. The dream of bringing joy is rounded in the atelier, a space of experiments, a place of imperfect objects, of images fixed in time and of arrow projects, always in the bliss of the process. She looks for what is unique and specific in us, that core that elevates the individual to the plane of the humanness.
Born in Chișinău in 1992, at the crush of the Soviet Union, she studied in Republic of Moldova since maturity where she formed hand and view. Ana was a reading child who liked to draw from early youth, together with books, it was an intim refuge. Moved to Bucharest Romania, she became an architect working in restoration, being in love with ruins and history.
The sensibility for painting erupted again, so she returned to plastic arts of ceramics and painting. In a condensed white square, she lets the hand trust in the eye for representing the distorted reality of the perceived world thought self. Ana paints the big horses from her dreams and the pragmatic reality of the world structure. The elements she is interested in are sensibility, timelessness, delicacy of the soul, and expressivity.
