
Andi Cristea

Andi Cristea is a Member of the European Parliament, actively contributing to the Committee on International Trade and the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly. As a former national MP, he played a key role in coordinating the work of the joint committee for Romania’s accession to the OECD.
In addition to legislative experience, he has held prominent positions within international organizations, serving as General Rapporteur of the Council of Europe for Science and Technology and Rapporteur for the Metaverse, reflecting his expertise in emerging technologies. His work in Brussels and Strasbourg has established him as a sought-after speaker at major technology conferences.
An extensive background in diplomacy and public administration includes serving as Director General in both the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Senate. During a previous mandate as a Member of the European Parliament (2014-2019), he simultaneously held two executive roles: Vice-Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Head of the Delegation for Moldova.
