Mr. Shevchenko is a prominent Ukrainian politician, diplomat, journalist, and civil activist. He co-founded the 5th Channel, Ukraine’s first 24/7 TV news channel, and worked with various media, including 1+1 and Voice of America.

He was a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament from 2006 to 2014. He was the Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada and ICAO from 2015 to 2021. Following Russia’s re-invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he co-founded Media Center Ukraine to support foreign journalists. In 2023, he served as Deputy Minister of Defence. He is currently the Head of Mission in Ukraine for the Ukrainian World Congress.
