
Claudiu Butnaru

Claudiu Butnaru is a Police Superintendent currently serving at the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) as the Head of the Inter-agency Cooperation Unit. In this role, he is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the unit that ensures cooperation with government institutions and authorities on national security issues.
Prior to dedicating his full-time efforts to the MIA, Claudiu served as the Airborne Company Commander (2014) and the Special Operations Forces Detachment Commander (2011-2014) in the Ministry of Defense.
Alongside his professional experience, Claudiu has a strong educational background. He graduated from the “Ștefan cel Mare” National Military College (2007) and holds a BSc in Military Intelligence from the Land Forces Academy (2010), a BSc in Finance from “Lucian Blaga” University (2011), and an MA in International Relations from “Lucian Blaga” University (2012). In 2014, he completed a post-university course in security at the National Defence College.
