A civil servant since 2013, Cristina Doris Banciu is Counselor for International Relations within the  County Council of Sibiu, coordinating the external cooperation activities, while also managing several  EU funded projects.  

Previously, at the US Embassy in Bucharest, Doris has worked as Cultural Affairs Assistant, as well as  Information Resource Center Technician. Prior to this she was Head of Eurodesk Information  Network Romania and Project Officer at the Romanian Agency for European Youth Cooperation – EUROTIN. Doris started her career in public service as an assistant within the Romanian Ministry of  Youth and Sport in Bucharest. For a limited period, she also had contact with the private sector while  working as an office assistant for NTT DATA Romania, an IT company in Sibiu. During her  adolescence, Doris has been the co-founder and an active volunteer for CRISPUS Youth NGO, 

Doris holds a master’s degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from ‘Lucian Blaga’ University in Sibiu  and has earned her BA in Sociology-Psychology at ‘Spiru Haret’ University Bucharest. Doris is fluent  in English and Romanian, uses German and Italian at working level, while also having limited  knowledge of French and Spanish.

Doris is a fellow of the third edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, Spring Cohort 2021.
