Dr. Ghenadie Rusu is a passionate specialist in the field of agriculture, with extensive hands-on research experience and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences. He has a deep understanding of current trends in agronomy, social policies, and agricultural regulations.

Since October 2021, he has been serving as the Head of the Plant Protection and Food Safety of Plant Origin Division within the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova. He has advanced in public service from the position of senior consultant at the Ministry, gaining significant experience in the development of agricultural policies, phytosanitary harmonization with the EU framework, food safety, and the analysis of agri-food product markets.

Dr. Rusu’s areas of expertise include agricultural policy development, phytosanitary harmonization with EU standards, food safety for products of plant origin, market analysis of socially important agri-food products, corn breeding, and seed production.

Among his achievements, he contributed to the development of 9 corn hybrids that have been registered and approved for cultivation in multiple countries. He is the author of over 30 articles published in specialized journals and has participated in numerous national and international projects in the field of agriculture.

He is also an active member of various national and international councils and committees related to agriculture.
