Part of ExchangeAlumni community and former Chief of Staff to the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization Mr. Horia-Răzvan Botiș was elected Vice-Chairman of the NATO Industrial Advisory Group in February 2024 after being the Deputy Head of the Romanian Delegation at the NATO Industrial Advisory Group since January 2021.

He is the Executive Director of the Romanian Defence Industry Shareholders Organization. Also, since April 2023 he holds a position of Sherpa of the NAs Head in the General Assembly Board of the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe. He has been nominated this year, under the Minister’s Order as the official Romanian representative on the Board of Directors of the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for Nord Atlantic Initiative and NATO Investment Fund Suppleant Member. Identifying the need of the Defence Industry he developed in 2020, inside the National Company ROMARM S.A. a new Centre of Excellence in Research, Development, and Innovation, where he held till 15’th of June 2024 the position of Chief Department for Bussiness Development, Innovation, Transfer of Technology and International Affairs.

Under his command, the Centre managed to transfer inside the National Defence Industry new products in collaboration with the Romanian MoD Research Centres and Academia. He graduated Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” and holds a bachelor’s Degree in Military Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Integrated Systems Engineering.

Currently, a PhD Candidate in the final year with a Scholarship at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and also a PhD Candidate enrolled on a second PhD program at Bucharest University of Economics. Both PhD thesis are focused on and follow the Defense Industry Approach and Economic Security.

He holds five ammunition invention patents registered, released under the Romanian National Authority O.S.I.M. and has published various studies related to economic evolution of the Romanian defense market. The common developed products re-opened the Transfer of Technology for common developed products between the MoD and Ministry of Economy Defence Production Facilities, after 30 years of isolated activity, some patents products have been produced and sold finding their way on the Defence market.

He is married and has one daughter.
