Ms. Indrani Bagchi is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ananta Centre, India. A distinguished journalist and foreign policy analyst, she was Associate Editor at The Times of India, where she reported on and analyzed global and Indian foreign policy issues from 2004 to 2022.

As Diplomatic Editor, she closely covered the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), providing in-depth reporting and analysis on India’s diplomatic engagements and international relations. Her work has been widely recognized for interpreting global geopolitical trends through an Indian perspective.

Prior to joining The Times of India, Ms. Bagchi worked with leading publications including India Today, The Economic Times, and The Statesman.

She graduated with Honours in English from Loreto College, University of Calcutta. In 1997, she was selected as a Reuters Fellow at the University of Oxford. In 2010, she received the prestigious Chang Lin-Tien Fellowship from The Asia Foundation to study U.S.–China relations at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Bagchi is also a Fellow of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship (Class III) at the Ananta Aspen Centre and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN).
