Ioana Laura Chiriță has been a law consultant at the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) since 2014. Before that she worked at the Transmission System Operator Transelectrica – SA and during that time she was involved in a project regarding the interconnection of Ukraine to the European transmission energy system.

She has 12 years of experience as a law consultant in the energy sector. She is currently a member – expert in the group amending the Regulation establishing the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators during the Presidency of Romania at the Council of Europe, appointed by the Minister of Energy.

She is interested in projects regarding energy efficiency and the development of the critical infrastructure in the energy sector. For that reason, she attended and graduated in June 2018 the Postgraduate Training and Continuing Professional Development Course in the field of Security and National Defense at the National Defense College and in her final paper for this program she focused her attention on energy security.

Ioana is a fellow of the first edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, organized between 2018 and 2019.
