
Irina Tkeshelashvili
AYLP Fellow 2010
Irina Tkeshelashvili is a fellow of the 2010 generation of Aspen Institute Romania Young Leaders Program.
She is Assistant to Coordinator within L.Kirkland Scholarship Program in Wroclaw, Poland, the only non EU citizen working for Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program who was invited to coordinate young leaders and scientists from former USSR countries in Poland since 2011.
Irina is a young leader from Georgia, who is brave enough to take responsibility to speak out about the problems in the country and in the South Caucasus and strong enough to bring solutions via international projects with Eastern European states. She was the youngest Migration Resource Center Coordinator within International Organization of Migration Mission to Georgia, thanks to whom during August 2008 IDPs got shelter and support from local authorities and international organizations. She stayed on the ground and helped them during the conflict.
In 2010, Irina was the first participant outside capital who received a scholarship to be in Polish Georgian Parliamentarian group and initiated the inter-regional memorandum of understanding between Georgia and Poland, that is recognized as the most successful cooperation of Marshall Office of Lower Silesia during the last 10 years. Through her ability to highlight strategic communication and international collaboration, she got the chance to work in communication departments of Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty in Prague and European Commission Regional Representative Office in Poland.
