
Lesia Vasylenko

Lesia Vasylenko, Member of the Parliament of Ukraine is a lawyer and politician from Holos party. She is also the head of the Subcommittee on Climate Change and Clean Air, Committee on Environmental Policy, and Nature Management.
Lesia Vasylenko obtained a master’s degree in international law at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and an LL.M. at University College London. Her key objective is to make climate change mitigation, safe environment, and environmental rights a priority on the agenda of the Parliament of Ukraine. She also advocates for the promotion of Green Deal policies and practices directed at greening the economy while focusing largely on human rights and international law issues. Given the fact that her spheres of professional interest include social and gender equality, veteran affairs, defense, and security, she is a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the President of the Bureau of Women Parliamentarians. Prior to this, she was a lawyer in international companies and during the Euromaidan, she was an assistant to the Chairman of the Commission for investigation and prevention of human rights violations in Ukraine.
