Loredana-Mihaela STANCIU graduated from Computer Science and Automation Faculty, part of the Politehnica University Timisoara, in 2001. She received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Politehnica University Timisoara in 2008. Since 2001, she is part of the Automation and Applied Informatics Department of the same university, currently being an Associate Professor. She also got her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the West University Timisoara in 2020.

She has interests in areas such as artificial intelligence, neural networks, social networks, affective computing, and game development. She has published 46 articles, 3 books and a book chapter and was director or member of 10 research/development projects. Loredana-Mihaela STANCIU is an active member of boards and comities at the department and faculty level and senator in the University Senate. Between September 2020 and December 2022 she was Vice Dean of Computer Science and Automation Faculty, currently being the Director of the Career Counseling and Guidance Center.
