Mihaela Geoană is an architect – Master of Architecture – Institute of Architecture “Ion Mincu” Bucharest, and holds a Master of Business Administration – Universite de Quebec a Montreal and the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest.

In September 2001, Mihaela Geoană established Renasterea Foundation – a NGO aimed to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of women’s cancers, in order to increase survival rates in Romania. Since 2003, she is the National Representative of Europa Donna in Romania.

Due to Renasterea’ s activity, October 1st was recognized as National Day of Fight against Breast Cancer in 2014, by the Romanian Parliament.

Between 2018-2022, Mihaela Geoană was the President of Think Pink Europe, European NGO that aims to bridge the gap between healthcare systems in European countries. Since 2022 she is the Vice-President of the organization.

Between 2007 – 2015, she was the President of the Romanian Red Cross. During her tenure, Mihaela Geoană initiated national projects (Food Bank, National First Aid Network) aimed to restore the concept of volunteering and philanthropy in Romania.

Mihaela Geoană is fluent in English and French.
