
Mircea Busuioceanu

Mircea Busuioceanu is Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Raiffeisen Bank Romania, with over 27 years of experience in the banking sector, specializing in risk management. He has been part of the bank’s executive management team since 2013 and has led the Risk Division for more than a decade, making him one of the longest-serving risk professionals in the Romanian banking system.
Mircea joined Raiffeisen Bank in 2002 within the Corporate Credit Department. In 2004, he became Head of Corporate Risk, followed by his appointment in 2008 as Director of the Corporate and SME Risk Department. In 2011, he was appointed Chief Risk Officer, and in 2013, he also became a member of the Executive Management Board as Vice President of the Risk Division.
Prior to joining Raiffeisen Bank, between 1996 and 2002, he held roles at the Romanian Bank for Foreign Trade and the Rural Credit Guarantee Fund.
Since 2023, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Association of Banks. Between 2011 and 2018, he also served as a Board Member of the Turnaround Management Association – Romania Chapter, where he is a founding member.
Mircea holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance – Banking from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and an Executive MBA from City College Greece (an affiliated institution of the University of Sheffield). He also completed the Master of Arts level of the Board Practice and Directorship program at Henley Business School, along with various advanced programs in leadership and strategy, including Strategy in the Digital Age (INSEAD), the CRO Programme (DC Gardner/Euromoney), and the Aspen Seminar for Leaders (Aspen Institute).
