Mircea Urcan is Investigator within the Investigations Directorate which is part of the General Directorate of Market Monitoring, Investigations of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority. He has twelve years of experience in the energy sector, of which the past nine years as an Expert in the Natural Gas Market Regulatory Department and then as Coordinator of the Natural Gas Investigations Compartment within the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority, organizing and conducting investigations on the wholesale energy market, in order to ensure its proper functioning, in accordance with national and European regulations. Mircea started his career in the energy field in the private sector, in a natural gas and electricity supply company, developing the client portfolio, representing the company by preparing offers and in negotiating and signing contracts with the clients.

Mircea has a technical background, having a bachelor degree in Construction Installations, being a graduate of the Faculty of Construction and Installations within the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. He is interested in continuous personal and professional development and believes that trying to be better every day is a necessary condition to achieve success in any field you work in.
