Radu Miruță was appointed Romania’s Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism in June 2025. His mission is to advance structural reforms in state-owned enterprises, foster genuine digital transformation, modernize tourism policy, and establish a transparent partnership between government and the business community.

Dr. Miruță holds a PhD in telecommunications networks and software from Politehnica University of Bucharest, where his research on content-based processing has been widely cited and applied in industry testing environments in France. He has published 14 peer-reviewed ISI-indexed papers, recognized internationally, and has taught and conducted research on intelligent networks and applied digital solutions at his alma mater.

Prior to entering public service, he pursued a successful career in the private sector as a software engineer and telecom consultant, managing complex projects across Europe and Asia for major international clients, including Cisco. Renowned for his ability to deliver innovative solutions in competitive environments, he brings a results-oriented perspective into government.

Elected to Parliament in 2020 and re-elected in 2024 with USR (Save Romania Union), he chaired the Parliamentary Committee on Communications and Information Technology before assuming his current ministerial role. Married and the father of two children, he combines professional expertise with a strong commitment to transparent and responsible governance.
