
Sorin Elisei
General Director, Energy Policies General Directorate, Ministry of Energy
Sorin is the General Director of the Energy Policies General Directorate at the Ministry of Energy, coordinating energy policies and measures related to Romania’s energy strategy and transition towards renewable and low carbon energy sources.
He is also a member of the Ministry’s Supervisory Committee for the implementation of the Modernisation Fund, overseeing the main investment projects in the energy sector carried out in order to achieve the objectives of Romania’s National Integrated Energy and Climate Change Plan (NECP) and, from April 2024, a member of the OMV Petrom Supervisory Board.
Before joining the Ministry of Energy in 2024, Sorin was a Director at Deloitte Romania, where he led the Energy & Sustainability practices. With 18 years of experience in the energy sector, Sorin coordinated end-to-end complex engagements with impact both locally and at European level, providing expertise in operational strategies and policies in the energy sector.
Sorin is recognized for his extensive knowledge of the Romanian and regional business environment, particularly in the energy sector. He has a strong academic background, having graduated from an Executive Management Programme at the London School of Business and Finance.
