
Spiros Lambridis
Special Envoy of Greece for Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece
Spiros Lambridis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1957. He holds degrees in Economic and Political Science from Athens University, European Integration from the University of Reading, and International Relations from Boston University. After serving as a Reserve Lieutenant in the Greek Land Forces (1980-1983), he joined the Diplomatic Corps in 1983.
His diplomatic career includes postings in Tel Aviv, Brussels, Geneva, and Skopje. He played a key role in the negotiations for the European Union’s enlargement in 1994 and held senior positions related to the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. He served as Deputy Head of Mission to NATO (2004-2011), later becoming Greece’s Permanent Representative to NATO (2016-2022). In 2022, he was appointed Special Envoy for Ukraine.
Throughout his career, he has received nine official state decorations from countries including Austria, Finland, Germany, and Italy. A multilingual diplomat, he speaks Greek, English, French, Italian, and Spanish, and is the author of six historical novels.
He has two children.
